I’ve kept a journal at LiveJournal.com since 2002. I recently decided to delete it, but saved all my entries from August of 2004 onwards.

I used the lj book tool to extract all my entries in PDF form. Then I went to LuLu.com to order copies of my journal entries, in hardcover format. And today, they arrived!

This means I am now officially a published author! And I’ve sold three books! All single copies, all to myself, yes; but I’m not one to worry about the details. The books are really beautiful, despite the fact that I didn’t take the time to design a cover or anything– this was just a bare bones standard basic design.

This is a really great option for self-publishing, and this might be a great way to bring blog content to another audience. I don’t intend to share additional copies of my journal, and doubt anyone would be interested anyway. Regardless, it was such an easy process, I would encourage anyone to give it a try.
